Service details

Our chance to gather together to say goodbye to Shawna is a precious time.  Please join us at 1:00pm on Saturday October 20, 2012 at Bow Valley Christian Church, 5300 - 53rd Avenue N.W. in Calgary.

Thank you for respecting the family's wishes of privacy and peace during this time.  Will and Alexis are holding up well and now welcome phone calls from those who wish to offer expressions of love and support.

If anyone has any questions, please leave a message on the blog with contact information and I will contact you directly to help out any way I can.

God bless each and every one of you who have been on this journey with Shawna.  What an honour it has been for us to be on this journey with her.

    Her family's time to say good bye will be in Calgary. Her parents will not be holding a separate service in Fort Frances.

    I am truly sorry for your loss. I wish I could be there with you all in Calgary to say good-bye but know that I will be praying for Shawna and you all from afar. Is there anywhere that Shawna wanted us to direct donations?

      Hi Lisa. Thank you for your prayers. I know how much people would like to be here Saturday, but Shawna will feel your love no matter where you are.
      I talked to Will and he will think about where donations should go. There will likely be a few choices. When he has decided I will let you know.

    Hi Terri. Thank you so much for your updates. I am in Australia so they have been greatly appreciated. Obviously I can't make the service... is there anywhere special that I can make a donation to in lieu....hardly the same as being there but as you can imagine I feel like I want to do something?     Will & Alexis, we’re so sad to hear about Shawna. When we first met Shawna, Jaycee and I talked in the car that night about how kind and sincere she was, peaceful at heart and truly interested in listening to what you have to say. We feel blessed to have gotten to know Shawna better over the past 2 years. We will always remember her and in our faith look forward to a day when we’ll meet again. We’re praying for you both as well as Shawna’s family. Jaycee will be home next week and I’ll be home on the 28th of October, we’ll call you then.
